SACA is a member of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), which is the world Players’ representative body in cricket. FICA aims to protect and promote the interests of professional cricketers from different countries around the world on issues that are common to those Players. FICA acts as the representative voice of all professional cricketers worldwide on common issues of importance to international Players and, in particular, to represent them in dealings with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Examples of matters dealt with by FICA include Player terms for ICC events, Player safety and security, policies relating to international scheduling, ICC codes, regulations and use of Player commercial rights. FICA also serves as a source of information for its member Player associations on international best practice in cricket. FICA is headed by Tony Irish (Executive Chairman).
