SACA, CSA, and the Provinces together fund the central contracting of physiotherapists and fitness trainers. This benefit allows Division 1, as well as Proteas men and women players free access to improved team medical services.

Any treatment received from an independent service provider will be for the player’s personal account. This fee may be covered by the player’s medical aid plan and / or HealthSaver funds depending on individual player circumstances.

The player should notify the Union immediately of any injuries or illnesses on duty.  Any treatment not covered by the cricketer’s medical aid scheme (including gap) will be covered by the Union, in accordance with clause 21.4 of the cricketer contract, except in the case of a non-timeous submission of the claim by the cricketer.

The cricketer should seek prior approval from the team physiotherapist or doctor for the appropriate treatment.
