The SACA Commercial Programme strategically centralises the collective rights of professional cricketers—including their appearance, likeness, and signatures – to create impactful market partnerships. By managing these assets on behalf of players, SACA ensures the professional value of players is safeguarded while providing players with a direct stake in the game’s commercial success.
A player’s physical and social media presence and visibility in marketing campaigns encompass activities such as appearances, meet-and-greets, fan interactions and public appearances. These rights are licensed to stakeholders so that SACA members can act as ambassadors for a campaign, including photo shoots, press events, endorsements, and appearances throughout the campaign’s lifespan.

Through the SACA Commercial Programme, the collective rights of players, including names, images, and likenesses, of all South African professional cricketers are centralised into a single, high-impact commercial entity. These rights are managed through a player trust, ensuring transparent financial oversight and the direct distribution of revenue to the players.
SACA’s day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated team based in Cape Town, South Africa. This team reports directly to the Players Executive Committee, a body elected annually by the players themselves, ensuring player representation at the highest level.
SACA is the players association for cricketers in South Africa. As a registered trade union in South Africa as well as the collective rights representative, SACA champions the best interests of players, ensuring fair treatment, competitive compensation, and optimal playing conditions.
SACA Player Plus is SACA’s welfare and personal development programme for players. It provides each player with an opportunity to obtain SACA bursaries to study at university or other educational institution, engage in life skills programmes, job shadow and participate in dual career programmes while paying professional cricket.
Collective rights enable SACA to license the imagery and likenesses of professional cricketers. This allows brands to feature multiple players in a single activation without the need for individual negotiations.
For all commercial inquiries and to explore how your brand can initiate strategic influence in the market, please contact our Head of Commercial, Emile Dreyer.

More About SACAThe SACA MVP is a ranking system that awards the Most Valuable Player in a season. It uses a sophisticated algorithm that measures points for runs scored, wickets taken, catches, and dismissals, with a point awarded for winning. These points are accumulated to measure a player’s overall impact on the game, making it a reliable measure of individual excellence in South African cricket
Player Plus is SACA’s comprehensive programme supporting professional cricketers holistically. It goes beyond on-field performance, focusing on career development through education and counseling, as well as prioritizing health and well-being with access to medical and wellness resources.
