PCA COMPLETES PIONEERING ANTI-CORRUPTION VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA

The Professional Cricketers’ Association has completed a successful and ground-breaking anti-corruption education visit to South Africa. Jason Ratcliffe, the PCA Assistant Chief Executive, was accompanied by Mervyn Westfield, the former Essex fast bowler, on the trip which included twelve sessions with players from franchises and provincial teams in Benoni, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Centurion. Westfield was jailed for four months in 2012 for his involvement in spot-fixing in a one day match against Durham in September 2009 but has since played an important role in the PCA’s anti-corruption campaign.
